I've wanted one for a long time... and they've always come up when I'm broke, or are priced so far out of reach that I thought I'd never have one. Fit is so good... can't stop looking at it, might never take it off!

Ok! I shouldn't have but -

Not in the flesh for a while, still time to concoct a story for Mrs. 😉

Good luck on the story.

See U Tube link for this revolutionary watch used by Russian Cosmonoughts and Navy Divers. It is not expensive and by no means luxury but a true tool watch. I have had the black dial for a few weeks and the blue dial arrived three days ago.

Love the uniformity of the condition and the stunning bezel that did not have an opportunity to fade as it is stainless steel.

Another Diplomat, CK124 from around 1936, with a 37.6 S 15P Inside. Dirty with a scratched crystal, but I bought it today so I didn't have time for a little cleanup :

Here with its black dial sister :

And the full family, 37.6 savonette and 38.5 lepine (does too many diplomats kill the diplomats? Well.... no !) :

I will just replace the Crystal, clean the case, clean and oil the movement. Won't touch the dial.

Sounds like a great plan for a great watch.
