My first Tri-Compax UG. Solid 18K ref 12253 cal 481. 1946-49 serial.

UPDATE!
It is not as bad as it could look! Watchmaker has uploaded some images. There is a bit of corrosion on some movement levers, but all in control and nothing that will prevent it from being brought back to life!.

Still looking: Anyone has a chrono seconds hand for a cal 2/481 they can help please PM me!!!馃憤

So how long has the cal 8500 been out now...7 years? Better late than never I guess...as this is my first. I'm a fan of the frame around the date on these and don't have many silver/white dials in the collection. So when a trusted seller/right price presented itself...well...you know...

First ownership impressions:
Dial/hands/markers hold up remarkably well to eye loupe scrutiny. Very clean facets and edges.
Quite photogenic with the dual AR.
Remarkably rattle free bracelet, even when the clasp is wide open.
As stated by many owners, dial presents itself in many ways depending on lighting.

Looking forward to testing putting it down Friday night and picking it up still running on Monday morning. YaY!

Been actively searching for very nice examples of these two for a long time.

This strap for my CK 3950. I have yet to find a suitable strap for it (including the rather flimsy ostrich that's in the first photo), but hopefully this vintage leather one by Jean Paul Menicucci will have the right heft.

Back on p. 166 I mentioned I was getting this strap for the CK 3950...Finally arrived, and it has really worked out nice on this rather thick case, being about 3.5 mm thick itself. It's from the Dutch boutique company Bulang & Sons.

Great combo! That watch is a real stunner, and the case...馃グ

Another one I mentioned earlier, this ref. 3139 Rolex Oyster Chronometer with "Army" case, I think this is called in adverts the "Imperial". The SN dates it to about 1937-38.

It needs a bit of work, but it looks better already with better photography...The last photo is after I polished the (original) crystal, which does need replacing, and installed a buffalo leather strap.

Nothing as fancy as what you guys buy, but my first chronograph and it's in good shape.

Looks better now with a new bracelet and a little polish of the crystal!

This arrived today. Been lusting after one of these for quite some time after seeing the other forum members examples. Hope to get some better pics in a more conducive light tomorrow...
