And of course the purpose is as above and also to to serve the military purpose of being non-shiny for combat or pilot use
Won this with a lowish bid. Meant to match it with an incoming , but din realise it came with 24mm end links! Any idea what watch this came with originally?
Something like this? (picture stolen on the web: http://www.intlwatchleague.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=13299&d=1425532375 )
Thanks for putting me on the right track. With some Google kung-fu, I'm back again to OF: https://omegaforums.net/threads/silver-and-gold-respirators.2983/ (@MMMD 's watch above)
Thanks to Spacefruit for tips and thoughts and other forum members who were quick to assist. 145.022 69
Bad News: Kitty is starved to near death. Good News: These are on the way "home"! Excelsior Park Cal 42 (Only "non round" chronograph caliber ever made?) This one is even a mono-pusher variant that I have not seen too often! Another Excelsior Park caliber 40-68 (Gallet branded): And a 18K Longines ref 3418 cal 343: Uncertain about the originality of the hands of the Longines? Anyone?? Not too bad for a Wednesday!
This just arrived from the other side of the world in only 3 days! Lots of pluses with this one: I love the size (38mm), I love the history, my teenage daughter even loves the look (I better keep it locked away!), and the Geiger counter goes CRAZY with it (750 cpm)! ... No watch sniffing/licking on this one...
Love this one Steed! Looks awesome on the bracelet. I've been looking for one just like this which means...DIBS. Please put me first on the list.
