Based on the pictures, I don't think much can be done without further damage to the dial. I'd just like it as it is.
Trying to clean the dial around the tachymetre area and you run the risk of making the dial worse! That is not dirt, it is tarnish. I suspect the protective coating on the dial which was applied to prevent tarnish, has begun to peel. Attempting to clean the tarnish off may result in losing more of the coating! Tread carefully!
This just in: That's some 'spider-ing' in the dial, which I like... ...but the caseback engraving I'm in love with!
Bday present from Stacey, few weeks ago but made to order. Arrived today Huon pine watch box for night stand.
Uhhh... yeah! ...that's my kind of party ! I have the same strap, too, but no lady to match it up with right now... these are great, though, I recently bought many others, in various colors and sizes..
Well, you might have a point there. After all, we're not a bunch of manly peacocks trying to show off our colors, are we? I suppose flashing around a gold Rolex, matched with a shiny black croc leather strap might help... What would you suggest?
I do like the idea, or hope, that a fine Speedmaster (with or without the colorful Perlon strap addition) could help... must have worked for @i20rider !
Double Hit for me today: Zenith Volcano Special Edition and GS Hi-Beat black dial (also collection shot...)
I've been pretty content most of the year but ran across an award watch listing about a month ago. I contacted the seller who just so happened to live close by and asked did they have any other watches and received a message they had a blue dialed watch.. So I kind of bought the first watch hoping it might lead to the next one. An 18K Zenith Captain was first - and today the blue dialed watch. I was told the watch had been in a drawer for the last 20 years but I think it could be closer to 40+ years.
I have long since stopped trying to make sense of women and their tastes. My girlfriend likes a lot of vintage watches, preferably those with "real numbers" or "numbers-numbers" (arabic numerals). Also she likes if the case is a oblong. Or completely round. Og rectangular. Just not "on the side"... Another deal braker is subseconds dials: "the ones with an extra dial in the dial". Abandon all hope.
