·Someone enlighten me!
I bought an 18mm Hirsch strap the other day, but it came without spring bars. So I toddled to a local little jewellers and asked for some '18mm spring bars'. They insisted on measuring the watch and started telling me I needed some 16mm bars...and I then ended up confused...😵💫
To note, the watch lugs are definitely 18mm!
Can anyone advise? I want a pair of bars for a watch whose lugs are 18mm (the metal is 9ct gold, I don't know if that would make a difference with it not being as hard as s/s?). Can the pressure potentially damage vintage lugs?
