Are you a Speedmaster or a Seamaster person?

I like the old Seamasters but the new ones don't do a lot for me. I think about them every once in awhile but never for long enough to do anything about it. Probably just as well. 😀

Seamaster. My first nice watch was the Casino Royale Seamaster that DC wore.

I have both, however I wear my Seamaster 95% of the time. To the point where I am thinking of selling my Speedmaster.

The 1960s black dial Seamaster toolwatches were amazing diving watches, however enter the 1990s and these became waved dial glitterballs
It looks Omega design-team finally noticed this and went back to the dark dial Seamaster toolwatch with the 2020 Seamaster 300M "Bond" 👍

What about the pre-2018 version of the SMPc that had the solid blue or black dial without waves? That was a beautiful model in my opinion.

I'd have said speedy, but then i've only owned a MkII for a few weeks !

I'm getting more and more demoralised by the rapidly increasing prices and poor examples of transitionals, so have actually started looking at Seamaster chronos - far more reasonably priced. Then again i may just buy a ST1 or ST2 is i can find a near new/new for a decent price lol!

I'm in the Speedmaster camp but my philosophy is that if you only have one Omega, get a Speedmaster. However, if you only have one watch, the Seamaster should be at the top of your list.

As an owner of both, I agree with this. I think that the Speedmaster line is more iconic and what most people who know watches think about when they hear “Omega,” but I also think that the Seamaster line is more versatile and offers more choices for the person who wants just one watch.

The history, size and complication make the speedmaster the winner for me!
It fills a gap that other top brands do not!

Speedmaster first and foremost; it has the history. But the Seamaster Planet Ocean 2201.50 is beautiful and iconic as well.

I love the history of the Speedmaster, but the Seamaster does it for me. On my second one now...
