Are you a Speedmaster or a Seamaster person?

Speedmaster? Seamaster? Both? Between these two icons, do you have a favorite that gets more wrist time? Why?
I have a Speedy Pro and an SMPc, but the latter gets more wrist time because I like having a date window and, as a sea kayaker, I need the increased water resistance.

Personally I like both, but the speedmaster edges it. This might be because my Seamaster was bought cheap and used as a beater, and I do hanker for the larger model. I guess my preference is based purely on aesthetics as I rarely use the extra functions on the speedy. My first speedmaster was the white reduced model, I’m properly addicted now.

Do you have a pic of the SMPc?

I have a FOIS but I think my collection will slowly move over to vintage seamasters. There is just something about vintage seamaster 321's.

Seamaster. With this line, you can get a diver, a chronometer dress watch (vintage), a 321 chronograph (vintage), and a GMT. Basically your all around four-piece collection.

Well, as there is such variety among particularly seamasters (120, 300, 300m, PP, 1000, SMdV, PO, AT, ...) I find it hard to (not) consider myself a Seamaster person. Compared to this, the Speedmaster aesthetic is much more consistent across the various models, which I all tend to like. As for the true divers, I tend to gravitate to other brands than Omega. Somehow the modern Omega divers (`300m and onwards) don't do it for me, aesthetically at least. The Helium escape crown on the 300m is a little awkward, I find. On the other hand: I really admire the engineering behind the co-axial movement in modern Seamasters.

So summing up this rambling reply: maybe I'm more of a Speedmaster guy, but I find it hard to dislike Seamasters

You forgot the Railmaster?

I love every "...master" of OMEGA, but the Speedy is #1.

Mea culpa! I didn’t include the Globemaster either - and I have one and love it!

Seamaster. I keep trying on the Speedmaster almost every time I visit an AD or boutique, and it never looks right to me. It's one of those watches I love in photographs but not on the wrist. Now the Seamaster line ... I'm still loving my Planet Ocean, and recently tried a Seamaster 300M in blue. I think I figured what I'll be buying next. That watch looked amazing.

In the mid-90s, I did some after-hours work at my workplace and was rewarded with $2000. It was between the Speedmaster and the Seamaster, in this case the Speedmaster 57 Replica and the Seamaster Professional 2254.50.

Eventually, I chose the Speedmaster. Over the years, I changed the bezel and hands to the modern style, and then to alpha hands.

Fast forward 20 years, bought a WatchCo Seamaster 300. Then traded the Speedmaster to my watchmaker (who restored to original) and bought the Seamaster Professional 2254.50 that I should have bought to begin with.

The Speedmaster made me fall in love with Omega....Seamaster does nothing for me!
