AT hits the sweet spot for me. It’s not a dress watch but dressy enough it doesn’t look out of place with formal attire.

Took me months to decide on the Skyfall AT and it's a keeper. I'm definitely 100% biased but I much prefer the older versions with vertical striping vs the current line with horizontal striping.
Agreed. The older versions hit the sweet spot between casual and formal perfectly whereas the newer ones lean more towards the sports watch side (potentially due to the introduction of the Globemaster, which is also a nice GADA watch?). I prefer the SMP for that category.

I think the aqua terra is THE most versatile designs out there. I have heard some compare it to the datejust on the "wear it with anything" front. On the other hand, I don't think there a lot of rules here... wear what you like.

You can't really go wrong with an Aqua Terra.

I've never seen the 12 6 day date version. Thanks for sharing. Reminds me of the older Oris BC3 (no insult intended, I like the look of those quite a lot as well).

Great watch to wear with anything👍

I completely agree with you: one of the most versatile watches that I own and it has a beautiful movement too!!!

Can be worn when you're dressed up for any occasion, as well as with a t-shirt and shorts! Looks great on your wrist!
Wow you really brought this thread back from the dead 😗
Freaked me out to click on this and see a picture I posted in 2018

Does anyone else notice with their aqua terra crowns they do not screw in the same way as other crowns? It seems almost like there is nothing to push against when you go to screw it back into this case making it seemingly difficult. Anyone else experience this?

Sorry, no difficulties for me.

I have two aqua terras of the 2500 generation and I think it goes in fine. It is nice because there are no crown guards. I turn the crown counterclockwise until I feel a click, and proceed to screw the crown in clockwise until I feel moderate resistance. This prevents cross-threading and allows for a good seal. I would not say that it is difficult, although every crown design has a slightly different feel. Maybe relative to other watches that you have it is "difficult" however I am not disappointed with the performance I have personally noted.

I really can’t stand the “teak” dial. It kills the AT for me, which is a shame because they are great watches. I’d buy one over an Explorer all day if they’d just drop the funky dial.

I’d have to disagree with you about the funky dial, so would my other half!!!

Don't think I've ever been in a situation where the AT would have been out of place, except at work or in the garden, but that's my fault not wanting to get it dirty 😁.

I have been looking at the white dialed 8900 myself. The versatility is key. I see it as a similar watch to the datejust.

Absolutely - the AT is a very nice every day watch. I just got one in blue and damn well works with everything. I was debating between the AT and the Rolex Datejust and comparing them side by side, the AT just had a lot more character. The blue in particular is subtle indoors but shines nicely in the sun.

I have both the DJ and the Blue AT. Both are amazing watches. to me the DJ (41) is the better balanced one while the AT has more character. The AT is the only Omega I have kept all along. Never flipped, never out of sight. All my other Omegas came and went. Except the CK2998 which I also like a lot.

I also have the white DJ 41. When it comes to Blue, AT is king, or at least co-ruler. On white, teak etc the DJ, to my taste, beats it by a mile or two.

On the opposite side, I actually like Aqua Terra because it does not have plain dial. I always love watch that has depth, like the linen dial of Constellation or fiber-like dial of Grand Seiko Mt. Iwate 😉
