Definitely more in balance than mission-models with the logo on the seconds subdial. Like it very much.

Glad someone revived this thread, this remains to me the Speedamaster grail, what surprises me is lack of examples with box and papers, or am I missing something? If someone has one with B&P s, I would propose it as a sticky just for historical interest reasons.

It is extremely hard to find one for sale, and prices are between 13000 and18000 euros...
I'm reading this thread in December 2020 and these prices are so fun comparing to actual market price examples!

There are many speedmaster references that have increased much more than the Soyuz since 2013... This one was already a special one back then 😉

This is why I like too find vintage watch catalogues with sale prices for the watches that are highly collectible nowadays!

I rather find it depressing 😁

My (R.I.P) grand mother used to say "We're always smarter à posteriori" 😗

Ok now I am a closet MkII fan, and I see some I have never seen:

#1388
#1390

Anyone know what they are?

Ok now I am a closet MkII fan,

Only a matter of time until these 1970’s designed aesthetics become the next wave...

I've had a good laugh about the 1388 :

Look at the condition of its dial and hour / minute hands. And that bezel that is centered at 11 instead of 12... ::facepalm1::

The 1390 looks also super strange.

First of all the case is different compared to other Mark II - what is that steel ring around the bezel? 🤪

And I would be really surprised if that the old style drop end Moonwatch chrono hand was installed on Mark II leaving the factory in 1975... nooo waaaay 🤪

They probably borrowed both watches from a pawn shop for the photo shooting for that brochure 😁

It is not a brochure but a book and basically an overview of watchauctions.

Ah ! This explains that. The integrity of watches being auctioned back then was as good as it is nowadays. At least the auction houses keep that line 👍

You mean this?
Oh these prices! In any case, imho today prices are gone too far from what they should really be.
