Uh, oh! We are going to a dark place.

Let Pete Conrad bring us back from the brink. "Whoopie! Man, that may have been a small one for Neil, but that's a long one for me."

    The right stuff.

Are you in the US? Do they require a full deposit? Not limited, correct?

Yes—In US. They asked for a minimum of $4k which I put down.

How do ask for deposit not knowing the price of the watch? Or do they and I missed something?

Will check with my Omega Boutique tomorrow. In the last few years they have been asking for full deposit in the US. $4000 probably because it is about 50% of the expected price?

Clearly the Apollo 13th 50th Anniversary watch is a USA only launch.

The only communication I have seen from Omega is that they are going to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of being given the Snoopy Award by NASA with an announcement on Oct 5th. Nothing about the watch being an A13 special edition.

Where is the information coming from that there is going to be a A13 50th Anniversary watch, could someone supply the link to Omega’s announcement on this please.

    Thanks.

So nothing actually from Omega, just a statement saying it was from Omega.

Not saying there won’t be a watch but logic would have been to announce the watch for the 50th Anniversary of the A13 flight 50 years on from the date of the flight.

The A13 flight was in mid April 1970 so I would have expected Omega to announce any 50th anniversary celebratory watch to coincide with those dates, the announcement would have therefore been around mid April 2020.

That Omega have chosen to announce a celebration of being presented with the Snoopy Award suggest that there is no A13 50th Anniversary watch.

If someone has something from Omega to state that there will be an A13 50th special edition watch please share this link so that we can all digest the information, otherwise it is just scuttlebutt.

Of course there's no Apollo 13 tribute Speedmaster as Omega announced it will be another Snoopy Speedmaster to commemorate " 50 years NASA Snoopy award " given because of the use of Apollo 13 Commander Lovell's NASA-issued Omega Speedmaster to time the 14 seconds LM DPS midcourse burn...
Omega received the NASA Snoopy award on October 5, 1970...

There was the Corona virus going around heavily in most of the world back in April. I don’t think the optics would be good if Omega announced a new Snoopy A13 watch in the middle of a pandemic.

Ah, but if you were going to announce an A13 50A watch for 2020 you would have done it before the virus kicked in, probably the end of 2019 or early 2020. The watches would have been delivered from April to celebrate the event, similar to A11 50A last year.

Yes the virus would ultimately have delayed building and shipping the watches but Omega would have been able to ship from June not too shabby considering Omegas reputation for late delivery.

This watch, if it is a watch, will celebrate the receiving of the award, it will certainly recognise A13 but not convinced that it will be an A13 50th. My reading of the press release from Omega states celebrate 50th Anniversary of receiving the Snoopy Award, this will mean a watch, it will be a Speedy, it will feature Snoopy, it will feature 50th Anniversary. What else no one knows until 5th October.

Virus will be around for quite a while, and it's just getting traction in South America. No company can wait for the pandemic to end before announcing new products.

    This ^^^^.
Given that folk are dying or being made redundant left right and centre I don’t think complaining that a watch announcement was made on time is of the highest priority to anyone.

A very first world problem to have.
