    Whose complaining?

I don't think that there was ever any intention to do an A13 50th watch, there have been announcements from lots of watch brands during the pandemic so if Omega wanted to announce the A13 50th they could easily have done. But the only announcement states that Omega will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of being presented with the Snoopy Award this October.

    A watch - Yes
    A Speedy - Yes
    Snoopy - Yes

Big booklet explaining why - Possibly
    Recognition to A13 - Certainly

The key issue is that it is a celebration of getting the award not a celebration of A13, I am unsure where the A13 stuff comes from other than those who are keen for Omega to do a A13 50th, AD's will certainly know no more than we do at this moment in time, so what they are taking deposits on is unclear.

Not sure how successful this will be, priced 20% more than the Daytona ::screwloose::

This isn't the A13 50th that this thread is about, this is the new 321 movement Speedmaster that many would like, many will buy and many will think is overpriced and not buy. It is not involved in A13/Snoopy 50th discussions.

Lovely watch though and I want one.

nobody would have imagined Omega not taking an opportunity to issue a LE with their history.

Maybe Omega decided that the awarding of the 'Snoopy' was more important than the A13 mission, even though it was what the watch did during the mission that got Omega the award.

It is strange as Omega could have issued 50th Anniversary watches for all the Apollo moon landing missions but other than A11 they haven't so maybe all we are going to get is A11, Snoopy and A17 to conclude the series, all with the 3861 movement, A11 had Buzz at 9, the celebration might have Snoopy at 9 and A17 could have the lunar rover at 9?

Don't forget the Apollo 8 50th anniversary was celebrated albeit not as an actual LE. 40th and 45th anniversaries got more issued speedy's which gave many people the mindset they would continue likewise, They even issued a dedicated seamaster for 50 years OHMSS which wasn't even a movie Omega do productplacement, go figure.

I would have it over a Daytona all day long, especially as I could actually get one at the MRP of it.

I believe, and illustrated this with some time-period photos, that Apollo 13 triggered some things at Omega Headquarters back in 1971... :whistling:

In general, microscopic sub-dials are a pet peve. Sometimes 30 'is' better than 60.
