Well, footie is footie, but soccer is a different sport entirely...

my knowledge is limited to a visit in the mid-1990s. When talking to some friends of my first wife I indicated I played soccer and one of them called it footie. Thanks for straightening me out, as I've had it wrong for 20+ years. 馃槦

Based on what I see of professional soccer, the slightest of Aussie Rules football contact would have the soccer guys rolling all over the place like they had limbs amputated...

It's fun to watch, in particular in person. We usually visit down under in their summer though, so I've only been to limited games. The MCG is a place unlike any other I think...

Cheers, Al

That is definitely an entertaining game to watch on TV. More interesting to me then rugby.

Occasionally ref U9 football matches involving my son and I wear my moonwatch every Sunday just in case I鈥檓 needed. I enjoy the interaction winding it and putting it on before we leave.
Not quite as important as a space craft re-entry but makes me smile when I do it.
If they get to a cup final I might upgrade to my Breguet type xx1 flyback chrono.
