I like plain single color watches. The seamaster 300 is ok but even that one has fake vintage patina. Basically I think all omegas are ugly outside of a few speedmasters and maybe the seamaster 300.
Great Josh thanks for sharing that.
I like single color watches too, though I am not sure what that means. Boy that new Yachtmashter II would be OK if it didn't have all that stupid stuff all over the dial. Basically I think that all Rolexs are ugly outside of a a few Sub models and maybe old Daytonas. 👍

You may as well give up on here then. It is well known that Omega make no other watch than the Speedmaster 😉

Omega did make other watches before the Speedmaster. They were for practice. 😝

I missed it sorry. At it quick glance it looks like the speedmaster is not for me then as a daily watch. Sad as I like it very much. I will get a Tudor as it is safer than the speedmaster around bodily fluids and soap suds.

I do recall in your 1st post on the forum that you were keen on swapping your Rolex James Cameron DSSD D-Blue for a Silver Snoopy & you were also interested in the Speedy Pro 3570 Hesalite. In addition you said you own the blue panda CK2998 right...?

So have you changed your mind now & no longer consider the Speedy as a daily beater?

This thread is rapidly becoming the BEST EVER with the recent merge! It's got it all - trolls calling Omega watches ugly, chicken littles perpetuating some sky falling myths, smart assery galore, the Grammar Police, people getting called out for 180˚ reversals, admissions of the usual poor reading comprehension, and a tiny pinch of fact that got glossed over (which threatened to ruin otherwise textbook internet stupidity so thank the Watch Gods posts like Al's were ignored). All we need now is somebody to call somebody else Hitler so we have an example of Godwin's Law and we can record this in the history books.

This is clearly the most sensible way the prevent water ingress to your watch:

Just follow this wise advise: if and when in doubt, DON'T.

Btw, I never get why people want to swim with their expensive watch on. Most of the time, swimming pools have giant watch nailed to the wall. If I was swimming in the ocean, I would have just estimated time by looking at the sun position. Simple as that. Unless you need to tell the precise time in water for occupational reasons, that I would get something cheaper and more purposeful such as a Suunto or other dive computers. Bottom line is, why risk it and then regrets later? It is like procreating without protection, joke aside haha. Time to dip my speedmaster in water.

😕

Um, procreation is meant to be done with out protection. The whole point of protection is to prevent procreation. 🤦

I could see potentially needing to wear it in the water if you accidentally brought it with you to the beach/ pool, and there was no place safe/ secure to keep it. Or if you went to a resort, etc. and once arriving there realized there was no safe place in the room to keep it (do you really trust those cheesy safes?) Third possibility is "hey everybody, look at me and my expensive watch!"

(please note this post address the one two posts up, and is not actually referencing 'protection from procreation' -- that is what mother-in-laws are for...)
