I think keeping politics out is going to be impractical.

I don't see why, the thread is about the Djokovic situation. You apparently just want the freedom to insert your own politics. Threads about the politics of COVID have never ended well.

Agreed - so far this one has held up ok. As mentioned before I am aiming to drop off the thread pending any firm outcomes. I am still not sure if he will play? I was not aiming to cause issues with the post you highlighted and it was from the Times. I was surprised by it to be honest. I will aim not to put more up like that here / I do hear you. I made a response to another reply about it above which got some likes - so I guess there was room for interpretation and some interest from it.

In case you hadn't noticed, the mods have been very patient and they have deleted some of the more political posts while allowing the thread to continue.

Thanks for the heads up. With the time zones it does vary when people dip in. I have also been out today and have been aiming off this one anyway as mentioned. The mods do a cracking job and I don’t want to make it harder - message understood and well taken as mentioned before.

I am sure the mods would not mind me pointing out that Gove worked as a journo on The Times ( owned by Murdoch ((The Sun Fox etc)) ) and remains a friend of his.
Or Goves ‘interesting’ approach to parliamentary expenses. Journo/MP crossover?

The interview quoted above is Obviously not linked to the current ‘garden party’ sh1tstorm approaching our (UK) Supreme Leader which may (or may not) lead to a Leadership race?

I lost interest in tennis after Fred Perry.

If anyone wants to read for themselves the legal documents regarding the Djokovic case in the Federal Court, below is a link to the Court website page dealing with the matter. You will have access to a number of affidavits, interview transcripts and the Judge's orders that are all on the public record. It is good this is available in the interest of transparency but I don't know for how long they will be there. You will see in the Orders the Judge only dealt with a narrow part of the whole vaccination rigmarole concerning Djokovic coming to Australia.

That is one point, the other one, about seeing children on the 17th, and whether or not he knew at that time if he was or not contaminated... still doesn't demonstrate much "seriousness" and care about others. If you take a test because some people were contaminated at an event you go, in his case the basketball game, just stay home isolating yourself while you wait for your results... Why on earht is he wondering around!

Even the Serbian prime minister has now said that he needs to explain himself as he likely violated Serbian health laws when he ran around infected knowingly (according to the information he gave the Australians). It’s up to three years in the can for deliberately doing that in Serbia, if you’re not an ultra wealthy athlete but a regular plebeian. It’s a quite different tone to that seen a couple of days ago.

He can't fill in an entry card himself?

Does he have a "support person" to wipe his arse as well?

Plausible deniability

Now, to be fair... he got money to have someone doing that... an expert, just that the person didn't do his/her job correctly this time around. Probably already fired though. Same as I assume he does have someone doing his tax declaration too 😉
EDIT: like a boss of mine, in my previous life, used to say "Trust is good, control is better" 😀

My mother-in-law doesn't like him. Reckons his eyes are too close together. Perhaps that's why he can't fill in forms. Although I would have thought that would suit near-sighted tasks. He's pretty bloody good at tennis so it can't be that much of a hinderance.

As if Djokovic's "people" don't know where he's been for the last 14 days. Any tennis player sitting on 20 GS wins and focussed on getting to 21 ought to make sure every T is crossed and every I dotted on every form and document necessary to get into Australia, especially during COVID when tough border restrictions have been commonplace. Sloppy paperwork doesn't stack up. The alternative is to attempt to deceive the authorities when they know they don't comply.
