路Some years ago I sold a small collection of antique parrying daggers and stilettos. This one was my favourite - a 17th century left hand large parrying dagger, 37 cm blade with pierced section and three fullers. Both sides of the blade were serrated for 17 cms. The down swept squared and flared steel guard had crosscut rondel terminals, and pierced thumb guard. The spiral wire binding on the hand grip was original, with a steel turks head pommel. The overall length was 51 cms - almost a short sword.
It was a very well made dagger, and now I wish I still owned it, as its proportions, quality and balance were as good as I had seen.
