I have a mixture of old Case kitchen knives and Ontario Forge ones, both are good high carbon blades though the Case are better.

Not a collector of knives per say, but I've made a few...

Here's one with a stabilized box elder handle and home made sheath...

Pretty lame joke mate.

But as a response to the @styggpyggeno1 post it made me just about spit my chilled Friday night Guinness draft!

Was into knives about a year ago. Knife hobby has since settled, wish I could say the same about the watch hobby. Still like having one of these 3 on me for EDC.

Being a retired Boatswain mate in the US Navy a deck knife was part of our trade so I collected them. One of them a Camillus deck knife was issued to me when I striked BM as a E-3 in 1981. We use to make our own knife sheaves with a spot for a marline spike did have a case sidewinder pocket knife I got at the ships store that sheave was for but some when I worked at a sail loft at NAS Alameda stole it when I left it on the table. Dam the case sidewinders sale for a few 100 bucks on fleabay these days.

Those Puronvarsi blades are fantastic. If you’re ever making more, please bear me in mind

these scandies have usually great blades. Even 15 euros blades are sharp as razors

I have a USN sheath knife a relative gave me years ago. Its in far from pristine condition but serviceable.
The Sheath is plastic or more likely Bakelite. The blade looks like that of the KABAR but the grooved stacked washer grip looks longer than a KABAR grip.
At some point the sheath had something rectangular (a whet rock?) bonded to the front surface but its long gone.

When a youngster I had a WW2 era Camillus made hatchet head. The steel was not really suited to the purpose and I ended up breaking it. That hatchet would take and hold a true razor edge.

A friend had a Sea Scouts Shrade Walden switch blade that resembled the old style boy scout knife.

I have s weakness for old gerbers, benchmade, spyderco, and s30v and s90v steel.
I've got to agree about the Gerber, they did make a mighty fine knife once upon a time.

My brother said that he had an old Scout knife that was " a bit rough ", and would I be able to spruce it up for him.

He sent it!

" a bit rough " Master of the understatement, my brother. 🙄

Had to make a new pommel, other than that, and fibre spacers at guard and pommel, all original.

"Before" pic is the top one, by the way.😁
