I've got about a year to go on the list.

Obviously beautiful. How do you like the size?

Size - it is deceptively not as small as it looks.

Yes it’s a smaller knife and it’s not going to be an every occasion knife as your not going to want to loose it or cut dry wall with it.

Here is a size comparison with a Spyderco Delica.

As you can see cutting edge is just as good as a Delica

This could be a knife you could use every day and it would be a
worthy candidate.
We just have the old beater attitude just like watches where we swap out a speedy for a SEIKO when doing the rough stuff.

Buy one…. Hell yes.

This is as good as it gets in a pocket knife. Every time I see this knife or hit the knife draw I always pick it up and have a WOW moment.

😁 Did you just say a Chris Reeve Knife is as good as a Spyderco?

Cutting edge is just as good, as in length. 😉

But yes this is a better knife than many Spyderco’s and probably the tie for the best folder I own.

I have had other CRK knives. Sold them all when I bought the GB1

But there is a Sebenza killer made by Spyderco for less than half the price

The Gayle Bradley 1

The GB1 and a Gayle Bradley Junction (both discontinued)

Yep, just messing with you my friend. It was a great picture because it demonstrated how much cutting length there is on such a small blade.

That's a bunch of CRKs. Assume you got those before the Covid explosion and long waits.

Good to hear about the Sebenza and GB. As you know, I got the GB2 after your recommendation. It doesn't get much use, but it's one of the most attractive blade shapes I've ever seen. It's a solid feeling in your hand too.

The Sebenza gets alot of praise on the internet, although a lot of that is for the 21. It's nice to hear that the GB is a at least as nice, as I really only wanted the Mnandi.

Nice watch too

Was not aware the Mnandi was so hard to get and just looked….🫣
Unavailable everywhere.
(And also glad I bought it many years ago before the several price rises and the Australian 💸 dollar issue at present)

You will love it when you eventually get one.

Mine is in Bocote inlay.

There is a store in Austin called Texas State Surplus. A Texas owned outlet store where all the confiscated knives from the Texas airports are collected and sold. I go there about once a month. Granted, they are rarely in perfect condition but THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of knives in one place. Treasure hunting fun.

^^ If you want to see cutlery, come to the DC area on July 20. There will be a gathering of kitchen knife makers and pro/ home cooks from the mid-Atlantic area, as well as a handful from other parts of the US. It's an opportunity to see knives from many Japanese smiths/ makers, as well as knifemakers from all other parts of the world.

My eldest picked up a lot of Spyderco knives auctioned off from TSA confiscations. It included this ClipIt, a very early version of the Delica when Spyderco had just come out with the pocket clip design (they were the first in this arena.). Pictured next to my Native for size comparison. Very cool find (and some poor soul is probably sick that he forgot he had it in his pocket when trying to fly).

Whoa, where does one find one of these TSA auctions?

I'd be so mad at myself if I had to turn a Spyderco over to TSA. Especially if it was an older discontinued model like that. I'd be running back to the check-in counter to see if I could put it in my luggage.

Once I discovered one of my favorite knives in my pocket while in the TSA line. Took a quick trip to the bathroom and tucked it under one of the sinks. When I returned home, it was still there. Easy peasy.

Delica 3, originally called the "Delica '98" in the Blade Magazine ads when it was first released.

Benchmade factory tour was very cool. Took us through the whole plant, from sheets of steel to assembly, sharpening and packing. It started with an 8 minute reading of an NDA, after which we signed an acknowledgement form and received a numbered wrist band (black band in the photo.) They were serious. I would have loved to take photos but NDA. We got to see some upcoming limited and I want a couple. Beautiful stuff.

We got swag, too. Even my wife wasn't bored.

My birthday and not a single location remotely close. Shame. I’ve carried Benchmade and Spyderco exclusively for 25 years now.
Almost forgot, Happy Birthday!

Probably my favorite knife I've owned, this Hogue Deka with magnacut steel and ultem scales. Really phenomenal knife - I never thought I'd go for one of these lightweight bugout style folders but something about the amber ultem and the Wharncliffe blade really does it for me. It disappears in my pockets, snaps open like butter, and keeps an edge forever. I've used it extremely hard every day as a farmworker for about two years now and it's held up great other than a slightly chipped tip from some reckless user error 😅

I learn something new everyday, never heard of ultem before, it looks great and Wikipedia says it has good mechanical properties. Nice tool.
