Few more Spyderco Knives

The Gayle Bradley Junction on special at KnifeCenter for $139 instead of $309 was a gimme, and as it was silly to pay for shipping for only one knife.
So may as well throw in a wharncliffe Delica

@cicindela this is the fixed blade you always needed but never knew 馃槈

Had a coupon for 10% off so I picked up one of these as a Christmas gift for a friend, liked it so much I ordered one for myself awhile later when they had another coupon day.
Less than 10 USD either way

Excellent knife for the price, barely legal for carry in my state. They passed knife owner protection legislation not long ago that allows carry of spring assisted opening knives with blades of less than 4 inches.

Sharp factory edge which I worked down a bit more one evening. Careful not to mar the finish. Razor edged now without stropping so I expect I can make it sharp as a scalpel with a little more effort.

Ordered a slightly bulkier and sturdier version with thick contoured rubberized grip to carry in a pouch on my survival vest. The grip makes it more suited to wood land chores but too bulky to draw from a pocket with ease. It has a black metal finish on the blade.

I like these much better than the switchblades I've owned.

I currently have a handmade AG Russell with a micarta handle in my pocket.
Although it's con't considered a "one-hander" it easily opens with my thumb in the finger slot.
The fit and finish is terrific but it's ATS34 steel stays sharp but is a bitch to sharpen.

Couldn't do without my trusty santoku - not expensive but very effective:

I have to admit more than a little attraction to Japanese steel so I share another prize possession - my Tobisho Clippers:

along with a picture of the damage that they can do to an innocent myrtle bush:

Having a trip to Japan a few months back, I must of had a few looks at my checked in bag if it was X-rayed
Japanese Sickle, Japanese garden and wood saws with a few extra blades, Japanese files, a few Japanese knives, full set of solid metal clippers for inside and outside in a nice case and a heap of fishing lures and jigs.
Word of advice, a Japanese hardware store is a dangerous place to spend a few hours 馃槈

This either goes here or in the overpolished pos thread, not sure which is more appropriate.

Updated SOTC as of last week. Missing from the pic is my Benchmade triage and Spyderco Rescue Clip tool. Not sure if this is getting out of hand or not

It's not a collecting focus but I have collected a few knives over the years. Mostly military stuff. Don't have a lot of photos of knives though.

World War II era second pattern (bottom) and third pattern (top) Fairbairn Sykes knives. Shown with a Webley Mark IV. I love both U.S. and British militaria.

Always thought Spyderco was more like Seiko. Something for everyone and good quality.

Spyderco used to be Seiko like but the last 10 years they are at the top of steels and choices

Having a lot of collaboration with the likes of Gayle Bradley, Bill Moran they are at the top of the tree nowadays as far as production knives go.
Having knives from $50 to $500 makes it so there is a knife for everyone

Buy a Mnandi (Chris Reeve)

Cost a bit so you have to save ( you don鈥檛 buy knives )
When you get it you will look at it for a month ( you don鈥檛 buy knives )
Save for the next one ( you don鈥檛 buy knives ) (you actually start selling knives)
