Anyone choose Tudor OVER Rolex?

I’ve never given Tudor any thought but having read this thread, thought I’d look and see what they’re like.

Sadly, they all seem to be divers with divers' style hands and all about 41mm wide.

I may have been looking in the wrong place but do the do anything like this, in about 36mm?

They certainly used to

I agree the BB36 is probably the closest thing in the current lineup.

Yes the BB36.
Yeah, not bad. I wouldn’t rule it out

I own a variety of watches which includes Tudor and Rolex.

At least for me, I don’t feel they overlap that much. Very different finish, bracelets and especially in modern, Tudor has really grown it’s own brand identity.

If I were more into dive watches, I’d certainly favor Tudor over Rollie. Tudor bb58/54/Pelagos have a more toolish look that appeals to me. I agree that a 36~37mm ranger would be so sweet and tempting if I didn’t have an original ranger and an explorer.

Moreover, Pre-1996 (50th anniversary TUDOR) watches have ROLEX case, caseback, crown and the 1970s- early 1990s a ROLEX bracelet !

i have always loved classic 5 digit serial rolex over any of the new offerings, i wouldnt say no to the bb54 if the opportunity came up. have been considering the pelagos 39 and another bb58 in black.

Pelagos 39. It's on my list.

Rolex is starting to edge towards bigger sizing which I think is a mistake.

That being said, I do wish I kept my Submariner I bought in Singapore in 2005.

In Singapore? Not on the street I hope.

I did enjoy my one visit there (the food!!!), but when offered "cheap Omega" on the street was always happy to reply "No thank you, I already have a real one." I don't know why they thought the near-ancient Heuer I was actually wearing was an Omega. Oh, I had really owned my quartz Seamaster for a few years by that time, just only took one watch with me.

Oh no, a very nice establishment near or around Orchard Road. Not sure exactly where as we walked around many miles during my visit. Now in Phuket, Thailand later in that trip, many of us with semi-nice genuine watches were approached with five "watches" for our one genuine trade offers. My guess, it makes it easier to make copies from genuine watches.

Would I love to have the Rolex Pepsi GMT....probably.
But I have the Tudor GMT, well, because I don't really have the means nor the desire to acquire the Rolex
Am I happy with my Tudor? Heck yes. Would I be happier with the Rolex? I really don't see how...

Yes the BB36.

The Tudor 1926 line sorely needs a midsize offfering - currently it's either 28mm or 41mm - so either too big or too small:

Wait nevermind - they do have a 36mm version, in a myriad of color/styles:

Or you can go for the 36mm Glamour date:

Or the BB's which are available in 31/36/39:
I tried to like these but I just couldn’t get over the dressy style watch with a dive dial and hands. Strange combination.

I absolutely love my Pelagos but yes, I’d go Rolex if cost was taken out of the equation.

Why?

Gifted by my wife on my 60th last August, my Tudor BBGMT still sings to me. I love it for what it is, not for what I wish it was.
