Anyone choose Tudor OVER Rolex?

Long story longer, I'm in love with the Pepsi white dial Black Bay GMT....

Was wondering if there are people out there who CHOOSE Tudor over Rolex....

The quality seems to be there in a sense of in house movements at the same factory, etc. etc.

Is it always going to end up being "well, I wish this was a Rolex" feeling?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

Is it a choice? Years of waiting to "get the call" 🙄 or be able to walk in to a jewelry store, pick up and feel the watch you're interested in and, oh my, actually walk out with it. The same day even!!! Seems like the choice is made. Just not by me.

I just do the math: would I rather have 4-6 Tudors or 1 Rolex? 😁

If you follow that line of logic, you never buy anything worth owning. Personally, I'd rather have one perfect watch than 6 very good ones. Same for everything else in life. Buy the best, buy once and never look back.

I've owned a couple of Tudors with the in-house movements. Well worth the money, but they're not Rolex.

Fair point, and to each their own.

By the way, anyone got suggestions on how to store and display my collection of 5,000 Casios? I had the choice to get one $50K AP or 5K $10 Casios. I think I may have made a terrible mistake.

If I want a Rolex, I’m getting a Rolex. I’d choose Steinhart over Tudor.

That being said, I do wish I kept my Submariner I bought in Singapore in 2005. And I don't own any Tudors.

If we're talking modern releases, I prefer Tudor. Love the new models shown at Watches and Wonders this year and likely picking up a BB54 in the near future. For vintage, gotta go with Rolex still for the sake of variety.

Own a few of each, wear the Tudor more frequently than the Rolex, especially in a work environment. Also values spiking on Rolex makes them less attractive for me to wear (theft is a valid concern). New Rolex too bling for me (polished centre links). 5 digit Rolex, close to perfection. The whole Rolex market BS is massive turn off.

Softening of Rolex market is making them more attractive again

All that said, mainly wear Omega.

I choose Tudor over Rolex every time. There's not a single modern Rolex that interests me (and even those that come close, are so not worth the games I'd have to play to get one)

Tudor on the other hand went so far as to install a pop-up shop in Geneva just so people who saw their new watches could go try them on and buy them.

Tudor > Rolex for sure

Although i have a couple of older Rolex models, a 1016 explorer & 16600 sea dweller, I'm much more attracted to modern Tudor than modern Rolex - of the recent releases I really like the bb54 and also hoping Tudor bring out the Ranger in 37mm which would be difficult to resist!

I used to own the Polar Explorer and a No Date. But when the prices climbed I decided to ditch them and got a Blackbay 58. Now Im looking at the new Blackbay 54. That one may well be even better 😀

I’ve never given Tudor any thought but having read this thread, thought I’d look and see what they’re like.

Sadly, they all seem to be divers with divers' style hands and all about 41mm wide.

I may have been looking in the wrong place but do the do anything like this, in about 36mm?

Yes the BB36.
