I must admit that's one of the reasons why I bought one of the very last.

I found it surprising that last night on Omega website I was still able to proceed to checkout on a FOIS.

Luckily, that’s as far as @padders baiting got me (so far)

I know it would be outrageous but im considering swapping the EW bezel for aluminum, the white on black ceramic contrast distracts visually from the dial
Actually not at all. Even though i like how ceramic bezel looks, i would also prefer the aluminium bezel on new EW.
Firstly ceramic can shatter, and is way more expensive to replace, therefore i would be probably much more carefull. Also the design of the watch doesnt help, as the bezel sticks out so much.
Secondly, i would prefer how aluminium bezel would age with time, all the patina and collecting dings.
Edit: also fingerprints are much more bothersome on ceramic!

Lets say i would be happy if they could cut the cost on the ceramic bezel and make the EW a bit cheaper..

yup the bezel sticks out beyond the case and actually hampers winding. since it is the same size as the professional models, I'll see if the new 3861 bezel can fit

I wonder if Ed White owners have the same complaint? (I personally don’t notice this with the cal321B.)

If you’re going to take the bezel off the cal321B, please do take some good photos along the way. In the case that things go well, I’d be interested to see the process. In the case that things go poorly, I’d be interested to see someone who just seconded a claim that ceramic is fragile next turn to manhandle and shatter his bezel - but purely for the comedy, you understand.
