Seems to be an absolute bargain for a vintage 36mm Patek chrono in what looks like fantastic condition. Can any Patek experts shed some light on this one for me? Much appreciated

would be nice to share insights too. @MarktheTime I have been eyeing this one for a while. seems like a bargain for a chrono patek, but i have not done any due diligence and resources online for patek is scarce or not available.

I have had several positive transactions with EWC in recent years, so didn’t want to start a public debate over one of their pieces. . But take a look at the small holes showing beneath the number six and the number 12 on the dial. Something has been messed with at some point along the way - maybe years ago. Shouldn’t be like that. I don’t know if the numerals were removed so the dial could be cleaned, and then the numerals were replaced, but it’s particularly evident beneath the six.
    Just my two cents.
For what it’s worth, I also told the OP that for a fraction of the price of the 1579 I have a 1949 pink gold 1578 listed for sale here. That wasn’t the primary reason for my reply.
Just suggested that he - and anyone else - be careful with the one you are looking at...

Pics below from the EWC listing, versus from a different 1579 owned by another member here I believe, for comparison. Judge for yourself....

Just removing the markers to clean the dial would not cause a gap like that ?

The case seems superb, the gold oxidation is to die for.... dial to look carefully with a good loupe
