Preorders are shipping, received mine today.

Hamilton Intra-Matic Reissue
40mm

Removed original black strap for a touch of color.

A winner in design IMHO.

Very cheeky, I'm hoping to see one of these soon.

Here's my lecture slide of the Hamilton watches I posted earlier ( page 3 June 2018 ), worn in official 1971 NASA portraits...
No idea if such a Hamilton was ever space-flown...

Another nice Hamilton Chrono-Matic that successfully competes over wrist time...

Good grief! A Cal 11 that is worse than mine at getting the date right.

Yesterday:

Today it shows "31", <sigh> Still love it though, a bit of character 😎

Just arrived - K-475 😎
If I wasn't a Hamilton fan I am now.
That's one of the most strikingly beautiful watches I've ever seen.

Sorry sir, it’s simply an old picture, and since it’s most recent service, even the date works as it should. 😀

Here is mine... it was a 25 years of service gift (1943-1968) to my grandpop. I drove it to the Swatch service center in Secaucus, NJ, but they wouldn’t service it. I don’t think I would wear it, it’s only 35mm, but I would love to have it serviced.

Different company back in the sixties. Take it to a good watchmaker to have it serviced, you also might think of having the watchmaker send off the dial to International Dial to be refinished.

Yes I plan to get it serviced, good suggestion to take a look at the dial as well.

The only info Swatch could provide me was that there are non OEM parts in it and the reason I couldn’t find it in a catalogue was because presentation watches were often not listed in the catalogue.

Just my opinion but I'd leave the dial alone other than cleaning. Get it serviced and wear it on a strap consistent with the period for awhile. You may find you like the size better than you'd think you would.
My present favorite for everyday wear is a 33.5mm Paul Peugeot. Never gets hung up on cuffs and so light I often forget I have it on.

I think refurbishing the dial would make it nicer. International Dial charges about $60 for the service.
Here's Handy Dan's blog on servicing a similar watch. The dial has a nice sunbust texture. Dan may even service your grandfather's watch.

+1

That dial is fine, do not have it refinished. Although the camera shows up light spotting you will not be able to see it on the wrist. That's a nice watch to have, especially with the family connection 👍
