Two of my significant conquests. These 2 Hamiltons I bought in Portland, Ore., about 30 years ago. These two are both private label watches for Canadian Hamilton dealers and railroad watch inspectors. The dial on the one is simply marked D R Dingwall Ltd. It would take a Canuck to recognize the name is for D R Dingwall Ltd., Winnipeg, Manitoba, a major divisional point back in the day. It would take a Hamilton lover to twig to the fact that the watch was a Hamilton, in spite of the private label. This watch is a grade 944, 19 jewel model.

The second one has a dial marked G M Rioch, Kenora, Ontario. I think this one was being ignored by others at the mart because of the distinctly Canadian private label name. Didn’t bother me! Again, it would take a Hamilton fan to twig to the possibility of it being a Hamilton. It was, and is. It is a grade 940, 21-jewels, and one of the mainstays in Hamilton’s arsenal of 18-size railroad watches.

Great watches, I love my 940, it's one of my best watches.

I own a Hamilton Field Khaki Automatic. 38mm. It has been my daily beater for the past four or five years. It is scarred and has a load of nicks and I love it. Currently sporting a perlon strap for the summer. Have not been wearing it much of late - mostly due to a pair of beautiful Stowa's (40mm Fleiger and Partition) I bought along with a Sinn 104.

I don't think you can wrong with a Hamilton. This is the second one I have purchased and I plan to keep it forever.

Well, this is one of my favorites, the Hamilton Whitford. Made for one year (1962), Hamilton changed the case and redesigned the floating lugs after that one year (the "Whitford B"). I imagine the original design led to quite a few jewelers visits by those who weren't careful while wearing the watch.

Freshly serviced, the first picture is mine; the movement, case back and wrist shots taken before and immediately after service. I love the 770 movement. It is running +2 sec day. Not too shabby.

I need a new strap. I need to find my iPhone macro for better photos. I never mastered capturing light.

Hope you enjoy as well!

What does it say about me that when I saw the title of this post, I thought the OP was talking about "Hamilton," the musical, and I clicked on it for that reason?

Here's my daily Khaki, which I adore. Very comfortable and so easy to read. It's a little more beat up now than in this picture.

I also picked up this Masterpiece quartz on the Bay for about $10 bucks. Gave it to the old man, as it seemed to fit his style 😀.

Hamilton Intra-Matic Reissue
40mm

Removed original black strap for a touch of color.

A winner in design IMHO.

This gorgeous gal arrived yesterday: 1972 Dateline LA-5603. Taking suggestions on straps because I'm definitely not a fan of the one it came with.

Here's the catalogue from 1972. So maybe a grey pigskin would work well. Or perhaps a tan racing-style strap.

You pulled the catalog image from the same one I was looking through to ID this 😎

I actually found a gray racing style strap from Meyhofer that I'm considering

Hamilton last week. My only one, an impulse buy from eBay. As a bonus the Cal. 11 movement is showing the correct date for a change 😗

I do like that blue though.
