My Khaki Field Mechanical. So much watch for the money.

Love it as a slightly bigger alternative to my British vintage military watches, and a great one for a warm day out and about.
It is a great watch. One of my go-to recommendations for folks looking for an inspired design and excellent quality for the money. For less than $500 you can have a truly mechanical handwinder with great heritage that can play in the office, at the range, or even more dressy occasions. I love it. Unfortunately mine took a tumble and needs the hands straightened as they currently interfere with each other 🙁

What are people's thoughts on the new Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze? I personally think it a really interesting watch at its 825 USD price point.

I'm also curious how bronze will turn out over time.

I just bought and immediately sold a khaki mechanical. Wanted to love it but they are so small on my wrist.
They have everything I like but just for smaller wrists...
I wish they make the exact same watch in a 42...

Here is a recent bargain find. I'm a sucker for vintage lume. If anyone has details on this variant please share!😀

I'm an electric watch guy, and am lucky to have these super rare Hamilton-Huguenin pieces. Inside is the Landeron 4750, which was in the market the same time as the Hamilton 505 electric.

Kind of odd to have Hamilton put their name on a competing movement, when they were still in the middle of selling their own electrics. There's a theory that these were a Europe based release (since Huguenin would have had easy access to the Swiss electrics) and it was made right after Hamilton bought up Huguenin. Cool regardless of the story.

Without doubt in my mind, the original Hamilton Electrics, although almost the earliest battery watches on the market, were (in my mind) the worst electric watches, ever! Timex came out with their first electric in the early 1960s. The earliest ones used an electric movement by the German firm Durowe. I feel even the Timex electric of the era was superior to the Hamilton Electric. The Huguenin Electric is new to me. It was likely an improvement over the Hamilton version.

Yeah, they aren't fun to deal with that's for sure. Timex/Laco really did a great job compared to almost everyone else at the time.

These are the same movements that are in the Wittnauer Electro-Chron, and many other brands. So luckily they had nothing to do with Hamilton's development team.

I am a mostly electric collector (I have too many, and then some, plus a little more), and work on them myself as well. The Landeron based movements are miles above everyone else. I have almost never had one that didn't work. Compared to LIP or Elgin and their terrible microscopic contact wires, and Hamilton with their sensitive balances, Landeron really knew what they were doing.

I’ve just bought this on eBay ($162.50 plus tax and postage, since the info is readily accessible) but I’ve never owned a Hamilton before.

It’s my sort of dial and, the seller assured me, it’s all original save for a new crystal and it’s recently serviced (😉) and runs well but I’ve no real idea what I’ve bought apart from the facts that I like the look of it and I wanted to add a Hamilton to the collection.

I’ve assumed it’s a monocoque case but apart from that, if anyone has any information about it I’d be grateful. Of course, I could have started a new thread but I thought I’d start here.
