To be honest the best thing they did was allow you to control the revs during the race countdown again. The last forza was terrible in not allowing you to do that. Just having that feature back is a major win, anything else is a bonus.

I'll give the new WRC game a shot. I always loved them back in the day.
But I haven't played a rally game since Dirt 3!

I played Dirt 1 and thought it was fun, but really only enjoyed the stage rally and rally raid modes. Trophy trucks are cool too. But I'm not a fan of rallycross or most offroad circuit racing so I didn't keep up with the series.

Dirt Rally and 2.0 were life though, a return to the Colin McRae Rally days.

I played a lot of Dirt 1 when it was out. That was during my brief stint with PlayStation.
I had 2 Xbox 360's give me the red ring of death and I went out and rage bought a PS3 lol.
It was the first, and only PS system I've ever owned. Had it for a few months and the and the CD drive went bad!
So I went and bought ANOTHER 360 lol. I eventually had the drive fixed on the PS3 but I didn't really play it...

Dirt Rally and Dirt Rally 2.0 are essentially direct extensions of those games. If you haven't played them I highly, highly recommend it (you could just go with 2.0 though as they added in the rallies from the original one as DLC)

I was a bit late upgrading from original xbox to the 360 so went all in on the 360 elite, partly because (allegedly) the RROD issue was fixed. I gave it away last year after 15 years of faithful service, never once had an issue with it. Pretty sure a non-elite 360 would have died long before then.

That was a great game., Best handling engine since Need For Speed: porsche Edition came out. That was something else back in the old days of early car racing. 😀

Anyone remember that porsche boxter game that came out when the car was launched. Spent many many hours playing that game.

It was a weird thing that game, just one car to choose from, although you could unlock a test driver with what was effectively a Boxster S in endgame. It was actually rather enjoyable though.

Exactly my recollection. Only one car to choose but the physics engine (at the time) was so good you didn't mind. Seem to remember it was one of the first sims I'd played where you could hit cones and they'd go flying semi realistically.

Mama needs a new gaming laptop to play her favorite game: Cities Skylines II ... who knew a city builder would be the new "but can it run crysis?" template. Looks like an Alienware m18 i9-13900HX rtx 4090 might be in her near future .... and since daddy can't have the slowest video card in the house, MSI called and they want their horsepower back!

Anyone playing Diablo 4? I picked it up last week. Getting close to finishing the story. It’s been good, all the skill/level trees are confusing as hell but fun.

Not yet, blizzard has chain-yanked too much lately and I didn't expect D4 to release as a finished game. Seems the campaign is quite good but the end game is nowhere near what it was in Diablo 2 or Diablo 3. It sounds like it is getting there with some S2 changes though so hopefully worth it soon.

After almost a decade in the closet, busted this out for my daughters.
Figured it was about time for them to experience the pain of a savage beating. I’m ready for the hurt feelings and crying lol.
Seriously though between this and Goldeneye the amount of games that resulted in serious drama between friends and family members…crazy.
I think the N64 got me in more fights (some turning physical) than any other external factors in my lifetime so far haha.
Between not getting a long enough turn, or a turn at all, to accusing your competitors of cheating or being unfair…..man those were the days lol.

I recently bought the new Super Smash Brothers to play with my kids. Given it a go a couple times and they had a lot of fun. I also purchased the LEGO Star Wars game. Half for me and half for my kid to play if he wants but I haven’t played it yet. I’ve still barely made progress in the new Zelda. I’m rarely in the mood for games these days despite having more free time. Some upcoming changes may have me digging into my game backlog.

the lego batman games (esp. the 3rd one) are solid as well- my 6 and 3 year old often opt to play this one together when it's game time.

I have LEGO City Undercover, LEGO Movie, and the DC Villains games. I bought them a long time ago when they were on sale thinking they’d get played in the future. LEGO City has gotten a bit of play time by my oldest but he’s obsessed with Minecraft. My youngest hasn’t shown much interest.

I've been cranking through Starfield and enjoying it. I think it will be a game I play more than once...and that hasn't happened for a loooooong time with a game. But it is also a game that can be played through multiple times and be somewhat different every time.
Also saw that Nordschleife will be released in the next Forza update (earlier than expected) so looking forward to that as well!
Those are pretty much the only 2 games I'm playing.

I played a bunch of hours of Starfield and then got to a big point and for some reason, stopped. Jedi Survivor stopped working so, then I was playing Robocop, which is awesome. Then a bit of CP2077: Phantom Liberty after it got fixed. lol The I was doing a bit of Mafia II to pass the time but Outer Worlds dropped for free on Epic over the holidays and since I never got to finish the DLC, I start that back up. So much fun! It's like a bethesda game without the bugs, no totally NOT a bethesda game 😁
