    Afternoon all,

My father and law showed me this Seamaster Deville and I was wondering if the group had any more info. This was given to his dad after many years of service at IBM in 1978. It is a complete set, and comes w all original paperwork and the box (shown). A look at the warranty card shows this was likely apart of a bulk purchase for IBM employees .......buuuut I didn’t know if the full set does anything. Just wanted a better idea of what he has (I have recommended a service and just to wear it as we aren’t talking high $$$)....but def would appreciate opinions of more seasoned collectors.

serial is in the 39 million range.

    thanks for the look!

Late 1970s piece, probably uses a 102X movement (1020 or 1022 maybe). The value will depend rather on the case material, solid gold will of course be more valuable than plated, 18K more so than 14K or 9K, but it does look solid.

It's not from Omega's golden age I am afraid, the later 1970s pieces had much less decoration and are correspondingly less desirable to most collectors than those from earlier eras. I would be careful with that bracelet, those spring loaded end pieces can gouge holes in the lugs of gold watches.

Thank you @padders .....I knew it wasn’t worth $$$$....but def worth checking gold content. (Some guy offered to buy it without inspecting which raised my suspicion to my FIL)

I like it’s a full set and it’s a decent omega you can wear without having that little fear of a bunch of money on your wrist. Plus you have some family history with it. It may not be a classic but I like to pick up things like that.

The gold content should be marked between the lower lugs, US market watch should be either 14K gold or 14K gold-filled.
