Just over half the lots sold, and that was helped by a significant number of no-reserve lots.

Bargain of the night seems to have been this omega 2639, which went for US$515 including premium. Anyone here get it?

The title important modern and vintage watches for that auction is stretching it a bit as there is a lot in that catalog you’d expect to see more on eBay or gumtree. AQ hasn’t had the best rep for a while now either compared to Christies, Phillips and others.

    You guys are kidding right?

A 2639 like that wouldn't top $400 in these parts.

I have to agree with @ConElPueblo.. it went too high imo. It's a 2639 with a polished case, come on

I was drooling over this personally.. but price in addition to Hong Kong-shipping-customs held me calm

AQ up until now had been showing rather strong results IMO. Against my expectations, I must confess. This might be the first one that went under the expectations but to really assess the market we will need to wait for the next Geneva auction which is the most «emblematic »

That. They should give the option to deliver in the EU without additional charges :D

You can choose to have your lot delivered to any of their main offices without extra charge, and many of the lots in the auction never left Europe, so no customs. Pays to check tho, nasty 30% surprise if you do have to import

I just checked and you're right -- they charge postage and a handling fee
