路I went to an antiques fair today in hopes of finding a few vendors who sold watches, as I haven't found many stores locally on the Gold Coast, AUS. Luckily I did - two older gentlemen who were more than happy to share their knowledge and experience and even were even impressed by what I knew (I guess I hang around here and other forums too much!). Here are a few photos, will try for better ones tomorrow.
It was a good experience, and i now have a few contacts for vintage watches in the future. Both vendors had plenty of other stock at their homes and were happy to arrange time to view which was nice 馃榾 . The Tudor 7021 stood out to me, however i think the bracelet is faux (which the seller had said it was not original to the watch - what do you guys think? The same seller had a whole 9 drawer box full of dress watches he hadn't even brought out - ridiculous!
The girard perregaux guy had about 9 others of varying types + tudors and some high quality citizens (not sure what types though)
And the rolex you can see upside down is a red writing submariner that needed to have the original hands put back on it so was not for sale (and much too far out of my price range anyway!)
