Another very rare Omega pocket watch.

I recently acquired another Omega chronometre pocket watch.

If you disagree with the authenticity of the dial, I would be happy to hear you opinion. But it's hard to feel that way. The dial's finish resembles very closely the finish of a different Omega pictured (missing bow).

The script is certainly different than the other two dress pocket watch chronometre's I've owned - but I believe it's just a different style, with printed logo. Serial number is very close to the serial number of my gold variant (second to last picture).

Thoughts?

I know next to nothing about Omega but the "flat G" looks unusual does it not?

Sorry for the annoyingly slightly burry photos of the comparisons. I uploaded a crisper photo as my first photo of the post.

How do you mean - flat?

This is what I was referring to but I have deleted my post as I realize that I am out of my depth.

I've now taken some more crisp shots of both pocket watches, with regard to their signatures and uploaded them to the original post.

I don't think the "G" is a problem because it doesn't match the other chronometre. As I said, I think they are different styles, just as the "A" and "M" are different and the proportions are different. But I am up for a more knowledgable opinion.

Here is a better comparison between the dial and another, with the exact same brushed finish and subdial.

Lovely watch, id say the dial was original. Let's not forget that this was a time of austerity and dials were not consistent. Pic up a copy of JTT and look at just the 30mm section and you will realise the variation of print types, font and style

IMHO the dial is original and it's a stunning watch. I'd seen this one myself and glad it's gone to a good home

Love these pocket watch threads. Question... in this business casual world, how does one wear a pocket watch? Of course I've seen that suits and pocket watches may become a thing again.

I have found "Gap khakis" pants with a small pocket on the belt line that I wear smaller watches in.
Please excuse the nonpressed pants. I raided the hamper for the photos. I have them in navy, khaki, and slate grey and yes I Double Dog with a wrist watch.

Certain pants have pockets for them. And you can always put them in a regular pocket, if you're not worried about it being scuffed up. Walking around makes your clothing rub on the casing, so the farther up it is on your waist, the better (less clothing movement up there).

I don't wear my pocket watches, however, so I can't comment more than that.

Whenever to subject of Omega pocket watches surfaces, I find myself compelled to show off the most photogenic of my two Louis Brandt & freres (Omega) grade CCR, 19-jewel pocket watches, made specifically for railroad use.

I did see that. Made an offer, but was not willing to spend that kind of money. Still, it went for less than the first time in went for auction.
