After missing out - being the underbidder - on a 105.003 and a waterproof spillman - I missed out on a 22492. Well: missed out? I was the highest bidder but transaction was cancelled due to me not being in the USA. After I proposed to supply a US adress seller proposed to re-list again at certain time with a BIN. Today at the agreed time no BIN and after exchanging some emails the watch appears to have been sold to the underbidder due to - according to the seller - ebay rules. Not my week....

Anyway: the watch: obviously a redial. Hands most likely replaced. One lug may be bend. But still: a mini pusher.

Really hate it to lose in such a way.

I don't understand why eBay allows bids from locations that the seller has restricted for shipping. The platform should simply not accept the bids.

Agreed. It basically does not (even worse: you can't even see the items for sale in a country if you are not in the right location) but in this case the seller made an error.

Cool and rare. I will post something about this later but I think only about 20 spillones have been found yet.

You think so? I assumed it was for female pushers.

Yes that was my thought... but not really based on experience other than I know some UGs had pins for female springbars

Female spring bars seem correct to me. Would definitely not expect fixed bars for this watch (and this production year).

Has anyone ever come up with a reasonable explanation why in the world you want to design a watch with female spring bars?

Maybe it minimises wear and damage sometimes seen on lug holes?

I have them on an 18k rose gold watch- I always assumed it was because the case was so soft that regular stainless spring bars would bore the holes over time. Don’t know why they would do it on a stainless watch.

Seen this before. I think they are too thick to be female spring bars. They tend to be on gold cases because gold was dear and one could make a lighter case using the female springbars.

Interesting. Don't think I've seen UG chrono's with fixed bars
