Hello

A purchase I've been working on for years. After missing a new old stock Certina DS2 Super PH 1000m in 2014, I had the chance to acquire a legendary diver, the famous 1970 Certina DS2 Super PH 1000m new old stock today at a reasonable price. It's a massive 18 mm thick diver's watch, rarer than a Seadweller, a Plo Prof, a Seamaster 1000m or a Carribean, it's a watch that had a top quality caliber the 25-651, a rotor mounted on ruby more qualitative than the Omega 1000 caliber and just as qualitative as the 1570 from Rolex if not more. Pictures of the seller. It will be mounted on a period correct black tropic strap with Certina buckle. The last purchase for this year most probably.

Have a nice weekend

Best regards

Georges

Wow - this is beautiful! I am really starting to develop an appreciation for this brand. I picked up an old used and abused manual wind Certina at an estate auction for less than $10.00, some 5 or 6 years ago. I had it serviced and cleaned up for my son. It had a pie pan dial with lots of patina and a beat up crystal. I remember my watchmaker showing me the pristine in-house movement and explaining how good these watches were. My son loves it and I admire it, whenever he wears it.

I have always loved these. The DS3 version was issued by the Royal Australian Navy for Clearance divers, and are everything a classic divers watch should be. Individual, unique design features,(push to turn bezel), and a crystal thick enough to stop a bullet. I still have a couple in the collection.

Lovely watch, congrats on the purchase. Have the original crown is a good sign. I discovered these watches years ago when they weren't much appreciated, unfortunately that had changed and so have prices.

These must rival the Zenith Defy cushion case and the Speedmaster 125 as the heaviest watches of all time. The Certina, however has stood the test of time. The orange dial is a classic.

Wow, congratulations, that is a stunner and looks to be in great nick. What does it weigh? It looks like you鈥檇 need to wear a heavy bracelet on your other wrist to balance yourself when walking 馃槈

a vintage black tropic strap will do fine
