I find it beautiful, and love a lot of Laurent Ferrier pieces. But if I’m being completely honest I would pick the Nomos world time over it just out of pure character.

Specs:
41mm diameter
12mm thick (including 2mm domed crystal)

And look it comes in blue too, image that. 👍

Only 15 to sell and it's taking a loooong time. I like the cushion-shaped Laurent Ferriers, this one not so much. It'd be interesting to see one of these releases not sell out.

In other words, Hodinkee isn't very much for "regular" affluent people - those who buy watches - anymore; it's more and more for the oligarchs.

To be fair, amongst their last few LEs were Nomos, Zenith, and Tag Heuer - all of which were considerably more affordable. That said, "LOL" at this one.

my wife loves the Hodinkee skipper and i might be their target audience but. . .60k ??? like you can buy a gronefeld 1941 remontoire and still have the cash left over to go buy a vintage zenith a3817 ?

count me among the group that don't get it

Darn, my wife just returned from Walmart and spent my extra 60k.

I do like the watch though.

The watch is gorgeous and very well executed. The dial is beautiful.

I fear though that Hodinkee are about to find out that at US$60K, their NYC clientele want something less "in the know/WIS collector/subtle/under the radar" and something more "look what I am wearing" PP, A Lange...

Well it's still available at this late hour...should I pull the trigger🤔?

not sure what the community thinks but Im getting quite bored of the endless Hodinkee marketing machine. They still come up with some great stuff but the OTT Egg timer and the magazine highlights why i fear profit will always supersede quality

I mean I get it. As soon as I refreshed and saw it was an LF I was almost RELIEVED. I wouldn't have to explain yet another purchase to my wife.

However, I think we should give more credit where credit is due to Hodinkee. I think we've all seen some pretty cringe worthy collabs that don't make much sense. At the very least the ones coming from Hodinkee are actually thought out.

I'll get off my soap box now.

No need to get off your soap box😀, most of their efforts have indeed resulted in good looking watches...this LF included. I do think though that the Hodinkee LE release frequency is a bit high...almost as if they are trying to compete with Omega😁

Make a Hoodinkee G-Shock LE!!

I'm in on the Hoodinkee "take out the trash LE" " bury the cash in the backyard LE " " driveing the loan car when the Lamborghini is getting serviced LE " you know the watch the bicycle courier would wear when dropping your lunches off.

I have 4K ( AUD only👎 ) stashed away Hoodinkee........ Work with me guys
I want that $14 off the notebook someday

The state of social media as a vehicle for "Influencers" to earn a living by lying or exaggerating about their affection for a mass-market product is really starting to get on my nerves. Phonies around every corner of the internet, it seems.

I agree. Marketing and profit aside, it is a very beautiful watch.

Functionally speaking, this seems to be a very close copy of what UN did years ago with their Dual Time +- watch that could advance the hour hand forwards or backwards using 2 pushers, has a home time window (that only shows one digit) at 9 o'clock, and also goes one better than the LF and has a big date feature. It even comes with a nicer (IMO) shade of blue dial...



This one came ins several different dial configurations...so if you don't want t drop 60k on a co-branded watch and want this functionality, it's out there.
