And the bezel index is not at 12. He was timing something right there on that podium!

This is a long shot I know, but both Aston Martin and Rolls Royce have recently announced 60th anniversary of Goldfinger vehicles.

But Bond wore Rolex back then, but maybe so. And if it's gold I won't be tempted to want one.

Interesting. The burgundy sweater link seems opportunistic but a gold with black dial Seamaster does make a lot of sense as a Goldfinger commemorative model. It's not like they can reissue Connery's screen worn Omega. 😉

I actually think he wasn’t timing something but rather may have had the bezel turned to hide the bezel index as it might have given more away. If it is the 60fh anniversary of Goldfinger, it probably does have a 60 there like the blue 60th anniversary rather than the normal triangular pointer as seen on the NTTD.

Hah, Omega are putting tremendous faith in his shirt cuff if that's the case! I feel like that's gotta be a coincidence, but who knows I guess.

I do agree it being a 60th Goldfinger edition is quite plausible, and if so, it almost certainly would say 60 at 12 o'clock. I commented this in the other black watch thread, but I still think it's strange Omega would want to commemorate Goldfinger, when it's got the most recognisable on screen Rolex shot of all time in it. But I guess a few snide comments from watch enthusiasts won't overrule the marketing dollars bound to come out of it if Omega just decide to claim Bond overall as their own.

I actually think there are at least some times when Omega / Swatch do things just to annoy Rolex, earlier this year they went and dropped the MoonSwatch Snoopy about a week or so before Rolex’s Watches & Wonders event in April, and the widespread hype for the Snoopy MoonSwatch with people queueing in mad numbers outside Swatch boutiques completely drowned out that relatively boring Rolex release event.

I was just joking 😀 Will be interesting to see how this turns out. If the model is going to be released or not.

It's 100% going to be released, it isn't Omega's style to tease a watch they don't plan to sell.

Unless they reduce the size to 40mm I’m out but that looks gorgeous.

Agreed and updated:

That actually looks really good (and that's coming from someone who just said gold watches should be dressy).

I think it would look really good with a black rubber strap option as well. Like the Rolex precious metal models with an Oysterflex strap (e.g., Daytona, Yacht-Master).

I agree. I don’t mind a 42MM gold watch like a speedy, but a diver in gold would have to be a smaller size to truly be versatile for me. My 42MM seamaster looked a bit weird with suits and dress shirts due to its sheer size and thickness. Imagine that in gold. 40mm would just be tasteful and I’d buy right away.

But as you said, I absolutely love this color way.

Bearing in mind if it actually is gold and if they ever offer it for sale it will likely be $40K plus, were you ever actually in? Genuine question.

Omega is brilliant with these little teases. I’m not big on social media but I’m seeing links posted from all of them. Whatever they pay Craig it seems to have payed off.

It's definitely not steel, I guess it could be bronze but it looks like yellow gold to me. Some other elements like whether the dial has waves or whether the bezel has a triangle or a 60 at twelve are still unknown too. If it is a Goldfinger 60th, then it will probably have those two details. I'm still unconvinced about that though, I'm suspicious it could just be a regular gold/burgundy current generation Seamaster.
