You don't see any for ages, then suddenly two pop up within a few days . . .

This is another 2500 JUB, but a later example with the caseback engraving this time -

Here is the link to the Italian listing. Quite a nice example, but the seller wants 7,900 euros 馃槻

However, you can make an offer . . . 馃槈

Is that the correct crown for a later model?

Of course, John,

It's still a good converstation piece! 馃榾 And something to add to your notes! 馃憤

If it was a little better condition, and a more realistic price vs. condition i'm sure we'd ALL be on it! 馃槑

Cheers

If that sells for anywhere near it's asking price, mine is hitting the market for $6500 shortly afterwards. 馃槣

I think that realistically, this is a 拢1,500 watch. With a new crystal, crown and a service, perhaps 拢2,000 GBP in the UK. Notice how worn the engraving on the back is. But what is interesting is that the case number falls into the same group as the other 2500s with RG cases and the engraving.

Remember, though worn, the engraving is much more prominent then on my watch which has none 馃槣

Yes, it certainly is very late number in the 4000 JUB pieces. 10,7xx xxx falls into the range of the known JUB movement serials, but as you say case numbers are close. Really interesting with this style of case as it also housed the very earliest of the constellations and a few other chronometers before 1952. May be they built up an inventory of case bodies and backs and mixed and matched.
