Some very cool old hi-fi equipment here, reminds me of when I was growing up and the thousands of dollars spent as a teenager and early 20s on that stuff. I've since replaced much of it, as I had problems and couldn't figure out the failing component until I had spent thousands. Some were not aging well and I have no ability to repair these things and my local shop that does claim to repair, complains that they can't find parts or (more often than not) doesn't listen to my complaint and doesn't do what I ask. But that's another thread.

"What did I buy today" unfortunately was a couple of weeks ago, my apologies for being late.

It's a new one, as the used car market is still crazy and it can sometimes cost less to just buy new. My old car had run out of gas.

It's got the V8. Vroom, vroom and all that. 😀

my friend just lost this same car to saltwater intrusion in hurricane Ian... was only a few months old, such a shame,
great car.

I bought this new door for a shower i redid and installed it swearing numerous times. My wife came into see it upon completion and pointed out a sticker on one of the glass doors that clearly stated “this side in” as it was coated. Yes I pretty much had to redo the entire thing swearing included

It’s been a bit of a wait to get it from the uk to France but last week my Camaro arrived, a few bits to sort but extremely pleased with it especially as I had only ever seen one other in real life . Something I can take the kids out in- just need to clear space in the garage!

Congratulations! Beautiful RS. There is nothing like a little well packaged Detroit iron to put a big smile on your face…be careful not to swallow your ears! Happy motoring!!!

That is beautiful. Nice to see they are appreciated in Europe and the UK. I had a 72 chevelle really regret selling it

A new HVAC system. No pictures because it's pretty boring, and the poor guys are still struggling with it after 9 hours.

A capacitor went out on the compressor this summer. Got it replaced but it was clear the system was aging badly and more would fail before long. We got quotes and tried to schedule with someone who ended up being very bad at communicating with us, so we just chanced it for the rest of the summer without replacing it.

Months later, my wife suddenly got the itch to start getting quotes again last week and got a cancellation spot for today (with a $300 discount for taking the spot), and prices had gone down since it's no longer peak season.

Less than two days after scheduling, scraping/grinding noises could be heard when the fan would start up and within day it was dead. Couldn't ask for much better timing than that. Only had to endure a few days of Texas "autumn" without AC.

I love the sound of a projector changing slides. I had all my slides digitized, but that sound is missing.

thankyou, it will get a lot more use as everyone can get in it, and got to love a V8 , this is a bit more sedate than my TVR but just as good , I’m a different way

2X Head Gravity MP tennis racquets...

I've always had different models as my back-up racquet, so nice to have two the same for once...

String is quite aggressive so generates more top spin. 👍

Just concluded negotiations on this car this afternoon.
Early 1928 Austin 16/6 Burnham.
Complete and original right down to the original paint.

Had been stored this last 40 years in a disassembled state with the intention of a restoration but the owner is now past caperble of doing it due to age and infirmity so was bought by another VAR member who reassembled and got it roadworthy but he has too many Austin vintages so I was offered it at a price I could not refuse.
So I am happy to say I am now the owner of a larger Austin than my last one.

Judging by the Registration stickers on the window it was last on the road in 1980 prior to disassembly.

My last Austin concourse grade ( sold in 2017) 1934 Austin Ten- Four.

Nice project car mate.
I have friends in Scotland that had a similar collection of beautiful English vintage cars, but of the other variety (Morris).

Pity the rego wasn't GC-1928 😁.

But not to bad given that the Rego number predates personalised plates by about 3
decades being issued somewhere in the mid 70's, same for my earlier Austin with its 1934 plates.
I think you needed to know some one in the Post Office back in the day to wangle such a good plate.

The beauty of this car is that's it's very drivable and need not have any further restoration especially if you like the very popular patina look but on the other hand you can easily do a rolling restoration of the cosmetics if you were fussed.
I am not sure where I will go with it restoration wise, dash I will probably do and door cards but very undecided on the exterior paint as it is the factory original and the body work is all aluminium from the front scuttle to the back so no need to worry about rust.
