How often is it you say to yourself and others I really need a xxxxxxx, well today was that day.

And then to cap it off why not a peak cap as well, a nice thick cow hide one to keep my ageing neurons toasty warm.

Bought a couple of slices of this...

Rainbow Obsidian. Most people are familiar with obsidian being just black, but it comes in a lot of colours. This has purple, blue, hints of green, gold/yellow...it's unpolished, so I will try to polish it to see if that brings out the colours more.

A very old radio, mostly complete. I just love the industrial and old science fi movie look. The future plans, are already sketched a couple of parts on order.

The screen on my last laptop died, so I needed a new one. After way to much time spent researching, I bought an HP DEV ONE. It was designed from the ground up to run Linux, and ships with POP!_OS installed. That means I didn't have to pay for a copy of MS Windows that I will never use. So far I am quite happy with the purchase. Well built, well priced, has the little eraser head pointer, a privacy cover for the built in camera, and no windows key. POP!_OS is nice and designed to minimize mouse use, auto window tiling is cool. I just need to get all the keyboard shortcuts.

A Sony str V6 what’s know in hifi world as a monster receiver. The thing is 50lbs, wasn’t working properly but it was a sweet deal part of a package deal. Another receiver a pioneer sx 636. Like watches, I enjoy working on them.

I like that a lot, does the tuning knob have a large heavy inertia imparting weight on it for that spin and glide function?

Glides very well, I don’t feel the knob is heavy at all.

Yes, I do. Mostly on the mantle over the fireplace. Don't have an up to date photo, but this is the last one I took:

Went on a buying spree last Friday and bought some items that were just to cheap to turn down and they were on my buying list anyway.
I wanted the 12-60 camera lens and had been bidding at auctions for them but they were going for too much money, then this complete Panasonic Lumix G85 kit turned up on face book with only 200 shutter activations, bought for an opening ceremony then put away also included a nice 25 mm prime, all new for $200.00, I could not resist!

The roll top has been on my list for a while as our son is into building models and these are ideal for that as it will keep our 5 year old away from the builds. All solid Oak wood, no MDF $30.00

The Sony STR-DE495 home theater set up is like new but about 10 to 15 years old and I remember when they were in the shops at a very high price so it was an opportune upgrade to my more basic Panasonic set up but I need to buy a few toslink cables and soundcard boards plus optical splitters so I can integrate everything into the system. Reading all the reviews of the equipment and speakers it sounds amazing at the price point and a quick test this afternoon confirmed it.
