·My wife asked me a couple of weeks ago what I'd like for Christmas, 'not much' I said as I have pretty much what I need and I certainly don't need any more watch stuff, car accessories, or cognac. She said, 'how about a new pair of binoculars?' I have been using my Japanese made Nikon compact 7x20 binoculars for the last 40 years and although they have served me well it would be nice to get a new pair with all the improvements made over the years.
Did a lot of research and like everything they come in grades from cheap to uber-expensive. Although pricey, in the end I chose a Leica Ultravid HD-Plus 10x32 in what they call their customized finish. Discounts on Leica gear are few and far between in my searching, and I ended up ordering directly off the LeicaUSA website. Typical sick precision German construction of titanium and magnesium, butter soft leather covering, with super Leica optics. The difference between the Nikon's and the Leica's is night and day. The colors, contrast and sharpness blew me away compared to the Nikon's. I won't need another pair in my lifetime. Thank's honey!
