An ugly yet (very) rare Seiko

I remember about 20 years ago, wandering in Paris that I bought this Seiko watch at the end of the sales period for a penny.
It was ugly but you know sometimes one makes ludicrous purchases without reasons.
It was so ugly and useless that I never wore it.
A few weeks ago I looked for the origin of this watch because I never saw it anywhere else than in my drawer and this turns out to be rather rare. It seems to sell for 500 bucks in Japan. I must have paid it 10 euros or 65 francs at the time.

They have a modern clock that is a tribute to this model. Seen in a Seiko cabinet in Singapore last year.

quoting : This odd little device incorporated a speaker and six drum patterns, "created solely for watch by popular music producer Tetsuya Komuro," along with two metronome modes (one audible, one visual), an alarm function that played one of the six drum patterns or just beeped, and an EL backlight for checking the time while basking onstage in front of your adoring fans.

No offense meant Sir! If I did, I do apologize. Judging by the current market value, I would say you did very well indeed 👍
