An homage to homage watches

I have some very nice vintage watches and am particularly fond of my 1950s - 1970s styled Omega, Longines, Seikos and Hamiltons.

So that’s the style I like but, I also admire similar Rolex and Tudors.

I’m retired and spend a lot of time walking my dog and sitting in an armchair with my crossword so I’m entirely happy wearing a beater, preferably automatic but sometimes quartz.

I came across a number of Explorer homages but opted for a marginally more expensive Kraken. For the cost of the Rolex, I could have bought approximately 200 of these.

I’m tempting providence by asserting that I’m sure footed ((winter mud not withstanding) and regard London, where I live, as a safe place, despite assertions to the contrary.

That said, if I break it, lose it or if a naive thief sees me brandishing my lookalike watch, then my self imposed budget would still cover another 199 of them 😀

Scofflaws eye your homage watch and in their feeble minds, they see the real thing! You think you are safe?

Don’t worry. I’ll actually take it off my wrist and give it to them 😉 it’s not as though it’s either valuable or irreplaceable

I have heard of instances when a machete was used to remove a WRIST when some jerk wanted the victims watch! Wear a Swatch!

Despite the comments of various transatlantic luminaries, London is a very safe city, we don’t have Sharia law and, in any event Swatches are ugly. I’d much rather have a Timex like that worn by @Lou P 😀😀

Although a Scofflaw might mistake any watch for another

This homage would be the safest in that situation. They would even let you keep it.
