My experience with AI to this point has been bad, particularly when researching subjects that are well known to me with AI putting up ridiculously incorrect responses in amongst the correct ones.
My opinion and experience as well

Apparently grok thinks it has a decent success rating on spotting fakes. Although again it always recommends using further assessment to verify.

I am neither pro nor con just observing the scene. I would be interested in a version designed specifically to assist in watches I don’t know if I’d ever have 100% faith in one but it may be cool when your at a shop come across something unique. I just find it of interest especially after watching a show on how AI is helping in cancer research it was rather enlightening to me.

I’m not defending the AI’s claim on accuracy, you can take it up with AI.

Or if you ask googles AI…

It’s all how you ask the question.

I am tired of hearing about AI, and I am tired of needing to edit stuff that people generated with AI instead of using their brain

Wow, a lot of AI hate around here!

Just like I don’t expect an average human to help me with a specialized task, I don’t expect a general purpose LLM to do it either. But it doesn’t take much to make them significantly better at a task, and it won’t be long before most of your tasks are better quality with AI assistance.

Whether you choose to take advantage is a very different question.

Whats not to hate about it?
Like all tools it can be helpful, even essential in the right hands, those that know when and how to use it but more importantly when not to use or rely upon it.
Used properly it could make great inroads into scientific and medical research, but it can also be used poorly.......no prizes for guessing which way it will be used most!
It has no digression, so it use needs plenty of it! it's inability to Digress means there is little opportunity to foster original and innovative ideas and concepts.
It's overuse by dipshits and those with agendas will make falsehoods misconceptions and even lies the accepted truth.
It will make those with the wealth and power to control and manipulate it even more wealthy and powerful in order to control society.
Don't for a millisecond think the you'll be a beneficiary of this, those megalomaniac bastards already in control will squash you like a bug along with every other poor bastard!

Some of my thinking may well be flawed........but at least I'm still thinking!
