Again, this connie found in China is tempting me.

If correct, the dial is very uncommon.

I have never seen one before with a black half waffle pie pan dial with gold surrounds.

Omega didn’t produce this contrasting dial arrangement again for about another decade (168.025)

The fonts look good, so possibly a special for the eastern market?

The case is really quite soft and the bottom left lug looks as though it might be bent.

It’s certainly unusual and a talking point but not at $3,500 IMHO.
yes, the case looks really soft. I'm looking for advice whether this dial is original or not. I have done some research and never seen a black half waffle with gold surrounding either. If it is original I will try to negotiate the price.

What part of China are you seeing these? We were trying to get my wife to hefei to see a sick relative and making progress but the bottom dropped out with the us suggesting residents avoid China. We are afraid she will get there and have trouble coming back. Literally everyone in her family has that respiratory illness unclear on what exactly is going on.
Anyway I never find vintage stuff when I’m in China don’t know where to look.

ok, @cqing

having looked at @qazwsx1 's version of the same dial, it would appear that your example is not the only one (and @qazwsx1 also says he has seen another couple of examples too)
This makes me much happier that it wasn't a redialler's fantasy dial.

My feeling is that it was a special for the eastern market as I don't believe there have been any like this posted on OF before now.

The script on both examples are remarkably similar, with heavily serifed fonts and quite thick lettering.

hope that helps.

The case almost looks sand-blasted, TBH.

What makes you think that?
Hmm, just a feeling. But today I feel like it is original. I don't see strong serif in the word 'constellation'...

Aren‘t the dashes misaligned?
Yes, I also think the dashes are misaligned, but would this be just normal? The listed price is only $2800.

The dial of that Connie is white. Also: very nice case.

I had a comparable, eggshell white Seamaster in YG. I ended up not liking the combination - it was too white.

So @cqing when are you starting a business and a direct access line to all your finds?
haha, I don't think this business can feed my family.

Look at what I found, a half linen dial de luxe 14381. Where is the crown originally from?
