Again, this connie found in China is tempting me.

Look at what I found, a half linen dial de luxe 14381. Where is the crown originally from?

Very nice
do you have pics of the movt?
inquiring minds want to know if this too was destined for the US market.

The crown is a Seamaster crown - but some have opined it could be original because has appeared on at least one contemporaneous advert.
(in this case its the wrong colour)

edit - once again, you would have to see the back of the dial to be sure it is a solid gold deluxe dial

It’s missing the large onyx markers that would be associated with a de luxe dial, plus the case back reference would be 14381/2

It has the 14381 82 dual reference caseback but I agree that a European deluxe dial would likely have fat flat onyx inserts.

However, somewhere in the back of my mind I think there are later gold linen dial c cases plus this is likely a US or eastern market Connie so may not follow the same norms.

I’m not sure about this one. First, was there really overlap between when this was made and when other linen dial Omegas were made (60s)? Need serial to confirm.

Second, those inside caseback engravings seem rather crude.. I’d like to see the outside of the caseback.

Third, at least the hands have been replaced given the dial has lume plots.

Not sure when the first linen dial was produced - definitely right to bring that up.

The caseback engravings on these references are really quite crude ( I was just having the same conversation with another member. )

Here’s mine.

The example of 14/18k model that I found use 14381 82 SC but difference in the number above that reference.

I am not sure what’s the meaning of these numbers (2/8/61 according to my example)

You keep posting many great models and rare variations! It would be interesting to understand the dynamics of these pieces ending up being sold at rather good prices in this market you have access to.

Could it have a link with the real estate crisis in China and people just selling them to dealers to get quick cash?

As I just mentioned, this is from a Chinese mobile app, and it does not have a web version, so I cannot post the link.
The vintage omega market is very small, so the prices vary vastly. This specific white gold constellation is listed at $5800.

Need your opinion on these 2 dials. The horizontal cross line of the first honeycomb connie is not straight. The second one also not looking good to me...

Both redials.

Constellation crosshairs ALWAYS go through the text.

The font is wrong on the second.

The earliest linen dials I’ve seen by omega date back to the mid 1950s.

bought this one for $770.

What a steal. Congrats. Railtrack connies with good dials are hard to come by and this one is even a rarer non-lume variant. I also like the original thin scallop crown that is often replaced. Some will say the case is soft. I wouldn’t care a second given the price and this dial. Very well done.
