Advice on selling: keep patina, or polish?

Hi all,

I'm culling a few of my earliest purchases after landing a grail recently. I've had this for sale on the local auction site (New Zealand's TradeMe) without much success despite what I think is a decent price given the gold content. I chose not to polish it, as I think it looks good/congruent with the dial condition, and the buyer could do it themself if wanted. Given that lack of decent bites, I wondered what the collective wisdom would be on a very gentle polish just to make it shiny?

Thanks in advance, Matt.

My take:
If you offer it on a market of picky/knowledgeable collector´s then leave it as is.
If you offer it on a "common" marketplace a slight polish with a jeweler´s cloth might make it more desireable for a "non-collector"

I am biased as I love patina on gold cases...

To be honest, I don’t think the patina on the case is what’s holding it back. It’s the dial.

Agree, and for that reason I would leave as it is.
Polishing it will only make the dial stick out like a sore thumb. At least right now the watch is consistent.
