Not experienced in posting and been having trouble getting this far and trying to find my way around. My apologies if I am like a bull in a china shop.

welcome @James P

@TexOmega is right when he says that you can't sell on Omega Forums without accruing 200 meaningful posts.
This is to deter scammers and to stop the forum becoming a sales platform rather than a discussion site.

However, this doesn't mean that you can't ask for advice about your watch.

If you post decent pics of your watch (not a Facebook link) then members can tell you what you have, possibly an approx value and what your best options are to dispose of it. (the answer still might be eBay)

(adding photos is easy - just go to 'add photos', find the pictures wherever you've stored them and then click 'insert')

Thank you Peemacgee so much for your assistance. I have struggled to try and get a post on this forum for that advice. Somehow got taken by my attempt on the forum to facebook. Then tried to copy to repost in the forum and that just ended up in a link. As an 80+ yr old, seem to just be upsetting people and breaking rules. Is there perhaps someone experience from the forum who would be willing to assist me by communicating with me by eMail/WhatsApp and then posting on the forum as a sort of proxy? If so how do I give my eMail or WatsApp?

Just to illustrate what Peemacgee explained with a picture. It wasn't obvious for me, either, the first time, so don't be discouraged. So once you've selected the picture(s) for uploading, you have to click the "insert photo" button.

you’re welcome - and don’t worry, folks break the rules all the time without knowing they are.
Members are thick-skinned and don’t upset easily - they are just protective of the forum.
I’ll send you a message - so look to your emails in a short while.

You made a typo : 80 + young one...... Hopefully you have enough time, to break any rule you like . We can assist you here in not breaking them, so you have one more somewhere else. You are old enough to do what you like ! Kind regards from Down Under. Achim

As brief critique of the watch @James P

The watch is a reference 168.004 which will contain a cal 561 automatic movement.
Correct and original pie pan dial with crosshairs.
Dauphine hands.
Semi hidden crown.

the case is in very good condition with the facets still clearly present on the bezel and lugs.
Nice medallion.

The original papers are a nice additional bonus.

As I mentioned in my PM, whilst it has the desirable pie pan dial, (and I happen to like them) this reference is not as desirable a Constellation as the earlier lyre-lug or dogleg lug references.
However, it is still a very nice watch.

Prices for these are rising but currently, if you were to sell this privately, I think it might achieve somewhere around £1,000 -£1,250
( you would need to discuss postage etc with the buyer)

For insurance, you would need to insure for £2,000

I’m sure others might chime in with opinions. (@Shabbaz )
if you let members know which country you are in they may have suggestions for where to sell.

Hope that helps

I followed one on eBay not long ago in a condition I’d consider comparable. Didn’t have papers, went for ~1100€ in open auction. So I second the ~1000GBP estimate, possibly slightly more due to the papers. The higher end of @Peemacgee s spectrum would be for a serviced example or one including the correct Omega bracelet, I think.

First and only owner, original papers, great watch. Love it. When was the last service? And do you have by any chance the original box?

or a man who appreciated watches and knew what he wanted when he bought it......

to be honest, if I'd owned this watch from new, to paraphrase Charlton Heston, they'd have to take off my cold dead wrist

On the other hand he`d wear this watch like 50 years and it`s completely normal to flip from time to time 😉
