Not sure, but the sweep hand does seem to be different, so I'm just encouraging us to focus on using examples of the correct reference.
Agreed. @Shabbaz - I know you have had several of both auto and manual, you want to throw a few pics up for comparison?

@trimetrov - implore the seller to have someone with the correct tool open that back, it would be a shame to scratch that back if it is indeed the real deal.

Ahhh shit! Well, now we’re knee deep in it.
Well you get what you pay for 😗😬

Looking around a bit It looks like it also came as a steel version.

Watch looks great and price is fair IMO.

You guys are the BEST. I will verify the movement with him, if all good there, I may have a new prize...

Hope it checks out. I don’t think asking for a shot of a movement at this price-point with a collectors watch it too big of an ask. That said, if it is someone who has no access to a watchmaker nor the knowledge and tools to open a watch back, I would be hesitant to ask them to do it themselves for fear of damaging the back or the movement (what is this little hair thing in there- I’ll just pull that out for the picture).

$2300 is a top dollar ask, IMO.

True. I would try to get it to 1,8/2k. Unless the bracelet is worth $ 300

And let’s not forget that it has been sitting for this long so will need a service so add that on top of the price- now we’re getting into unrealistic money

Agreed - and I calculated about that much as a premium for the bracelet, if that checks out.

The watch looks fine. It looks like it hasn't been much worn in it's life.

Well, if it all checks out, it’s one of the cleanest ones I’ve seen. And the bracelet is worth $300 on its own if it’s as clean as the watch. I’ve been in the hunt for one for a while and they are always clapped out.

He does NOT want to open the caseback for me, it's never been serviced and he wants to leave it unmolested.

The top of the lugs appear shinny. I understand that when new the 166.027 lug tops were brushed and the case sides were polished. I think the watch has seen a watchmaker before.

Did you see the asking price for the one listed on the private sales forum?

The 1098?

I don't know what that is. I'm talking about the manual winding Seamaster 120, like the one in this thread, but without a date.
