Hi there, my Mother in law has asked me to help sell a vintage omega watch, so I would really like some advice as to how to accurately list it on an auction site (and if Ebay is the best option?)

She/ my father in law have owned it for many years, believe it to be solid gold and possibly date to 1949. It is a mechanical wonder mechanism and keeps great time.

Any advice on how to list it accurately is my priority, it am indication of a fair price would be appreciated too. Many thanks Steve

Hi Nice watch, with character.
It has a 9k gold case, made by Dennison in England, not Omega. This was normal behaviour, to avoid tariffs.

Thanks, that makes sense. We are in England

The movement serial number appears to be 11889994 which confirms your assumption of 1949. 11 million approximately started in 1947 and 12 million began in 1950.

Vintage Omega - 1949 Gents Manual Wind - Caliber 30T2

A nice gents vintage Omega with a solid gold (9ct ?) case by Dennison of England. Case is in good condition. Dial and hands are original but showing nice patina due to age. Crown maybe a later replacement. A new crystal would improve the looks of this watch. Original gold buckle on a generic strap. The movement is in good condition and works without problems but service history is unknown.

Just something like that. Don't overstate stuff like condition etc and let the photographs sell the watch.
