there is a seller in Thailand, who sells many of these.....for what it is worth. a few sellers believe, they stumbled on a gold mine with these rather small watches. price wise in the speedmaster territory....strange.... kind regards. achim

Even stranger.....is the horrible redials these have.





Compare the anchor on the Thai ones to a genuine one for sale in Adelaide (ouch, my eyes are still watering at the price 😲)

I saw a lot of these in eBay about ten years ago from Thailand, I wonder how many people bought them in good faith and think they are original.

never seen one before...is the one in Moldova on Ebay a genuine original one? I really like the retro look.

It should be noted that there appear to be at least two versions of the anchor that are legitimate.
First, the "slanted" anchor version (your link):

Second, a straight anchor version as seen on these watches (I think this picture is from AJTT, page 458 I believe).

Another misconception I have heard is that these were made in limited edition for a government agency. AFAIK, these were a regular catalog item. Here is an image taken from Steve Waddington's site, showing a page from an Italian market catalog from 1968.
