Hi all,

I am considering to purchase this omega constellation 167.021 on ebay for around $850. I was wondering if the dial was original as the the constellation on the bottom looks off. Also I am also concerned about the corrosion near the movement. Any general advice is appreciated!

corrosion near the movement.
???

Dial looks fine, these references with the super-flat movements don't follow follow typical design protocol.

Thanks for the reply, Are the black splotches near the gasket ring on the back of the watch a concern?

Looks like it needs a new gasket which would be part of a regular service which should be done on any used watch off eBay.

Probably not a concern, it's just gunk that wasn't cleaned off properly when opening the case.

I believe this “new” Constellation script started around 1970- here’s my 168.029 “ transitional” C case from 1970 with same straight Constellation text, which was used on later watches.

You might be missing the lower case ‘automatic’ script.
This style of script started much earlier than you might think - around 1966 IIRC.
