90.000 is a pretty strong result, especially when considering the movement had been swapped in the past... and nobody has a clue who the f...k was Adolf B. So no real VIP factor.
However, regular BA topped 50k USD recently. I have the impression, that Covid-19 blew up pretty much all investment bubbles in an increased rate. Hope they don't burst.

I'm quite shocked, considering all the downsides, that it went that far. If it was an HK auction there'd be screams of money-laundering, but the only thing I can think of it that someone knows a lot more than we do about dear old Adolf...

Interesting...

Brings me to the Black/red racing that I know with a movement not correct for the watch but is a one owner from new with box and papers, it's also never been anywhere for service in its life.

You and everybody who has ever owned a Speedmaster 😗

Not me tbh - IMO a tool watch like Speedmaster must be in steel (or maybe titanium could aslo be accepted)...

Wow, that auction result was a surprise ! Mine is high number but I bought it from from original owner and serviced with authorized vintage Omega level 3 watch service. All original parts. Unfortunately no original box nor any other documentation. Not selling it though, but maybe not wearing it either except some special occasions. Have other speedmasters to wear in everyday use.
